About the Place
Welcome to Gold Curry, a delightful haven for curry lovers nestled in the heart of Bangkok at 20/3 Soi Sukhumvit 39. This is the first branch of Gold Curry to grace Thailand, promising an authentic taste of Japanese curry that keeps patrons coming back for more.
From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance and attentive service draw you in. Guests often rave about their culinary experience, with complimentary miso soup and iced water enhancing the dining experience without adding to your bill. This thoughtful touch reflects the brand’s commitment to exceptional service.
Gold Curry offers a variety of dishes, but many highlights emerge from customer experiences. The Kra Pao Moo with curry sauce is a surprising favorite, showcasing a harmonious blend of flavors that delight the palate. Meanwhile, the fried fish curry with tartar sauce and the signature katsu curry are notable for their unique richness and generous portions, ensuring that each bite is satisfying.
However, it’s worth noting some feedback on the curry sauce’s thickness and flavor profile. While some patrons find it a tad one-dimensional, others appreciate its robust starchiness, particularly the prominent taste of potatoes, providing a delicious alternative to the more standard spice-heavy curries found elsewhere. Whether you prefer a lighter or a more hearty flavor, Gold Curry caters to diverse tastes with its crafted dishes.
The restaurant stands out with its unique offerings, such as rich, darker curry gravies and unlimited sides of red Japanese pickles, setting it apart in the competitive curry landscape. Many reviews commend the large portions, ideal for those with hearty appetites, especially the S size, which often proves adequate for a fulfilling meal.
In summary, Gold Curry combines flavorful Japanese curry dishes with thoughtful service, creating an inviting dining experience. Whether you're a curry aficionado or a curious newcomer, this establishment promises a culinary journey that is both enjoyable and memorable.
“ First branch of Gold Curry in Thailand. Good taste. Good service. Free miso soup and a glass of drinking water. Just have to park at shopping mall nearby because of no parking here. ”
“ Kra Pao Moo with curry sauce is surprisingly matched. All curry rice comes with a miso soup and a glass of iced water. ”
“ - Curry rice with Fried Fish and Tatar sauce (Size S) The curry sauce here is more thick with less notes of spices, but with a more dominant taste from starches like potatoes -- whereas at Cocoichibanya would be more strongly from apples and spices. I personally feel like I could eat less of the dish as the curry is slightly one note in taste, it then became repetitive in taste as some point. The toppings offered here are quite extensive -- this time I tried fried fish for the topping, it was fresh and crispy, and had a good ratio of batter and fish. The other toppings offered are also reasonably priced. Interior's condition is a little worn down, the cushions have teared and the paint and wallpaper on the walls made me question the cleanliness of the food that I am eating even though the kitchen area looks perfectly fine. Overall, I had a good meal and a decent experience. ”
“ One of my favorite curry shop. Portion is so big, S size for me is good enough. Curry is so flavorful but come is small amount. Katsu is better than many curry shop. ”
“ It is one of the fabulous Japanese curry dish I have ever tried. I ordered fired pork cutlet curry. The curry looks darker than other curries, but the gravy is thicker and more flavorful which makes this restaurant unique. Moreover, you could get the red Japanese pickles and miso soup as much as you want. You can also get free water with ice without any extra charge. You can also receive a stamp card which helps you collect stamps for free toppings and dish. ”
